TANAP receives "Project of the Year" award

Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) project, which is one of the most successful examples of international energy cooperation, has received the “Project of the Year” Award by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world's leading association for project, programme and portfolio management.

The PMI Project of the Year Award recognizes large and complex projects that best deliver superior performance of project management practices, superior organisational results and positive impacts on society.

The award received by TANAP is one of the most prestigious in its field and is a direct result of project’s focus on quality, as well as social, economic and cultural values that have been put forward throughout the term of the project.

As previously disclosed, by the end of the year for the first time in history Azerbaijani natural gas will be delivered through the direct link to Europe via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), TANAP and Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). Thus, Azerbaijan will further increase its role in providing Europe's energy security. Therefore, the security of Azerbaijani export pipelines is an integral part of European Union’s strategic interests.

The Southern Gas Corridor together with other Azerbaijani export pipelines strengthens Azerbaijan's independence, enabling us to bring our energy resources from the Caspian Sea to the world markets and underlines Azerbaijan’s potential to become an energy transportation and sales hub between Europe and Asia in the future.
